Located in the heart of Summerville, Laura is inspired by the culture and cuisine of the head chef’s grandmother. You may have even experienced Chef Nico Romo’s other restaurants, NICO, in Mount Pleasant or Bistronomy in Downtown Charleston. There is something for everyone with options from pasta, pizza, various entrees, and an extensive drink menu.

Bexley Fish & Raw Bar 

There could not be a list of new restaurants without a raw bar! With one glance at the name, you know Bexley Fish & Raw Bar is emulating the feeling of the coast and the food that Summerville residents love. In just a few months, they have captured the attention of locals looking for something new.

There are no reservations, but you can walk in to experience it. While there is a great raw bar, other large plates and handheld options meet anyone’s tastebuds. A new raw bar is always a good idea!  

Viva Chicken 

Are you looking for the “Hottest and Freshest Chicken” around? Viva Chicken is the place for you. With other locations in Charleston, it has finally made its way to Summerville. There is a focus on Peruvian-style rotisserie chicken that create distinct flavors you may not have encountered before. It has to be next on your list if you’ve been looking for great yuca and plantains.

Kids can find ample options as well with child-sized meals for ages 12 and under. There is even an outdoor patio to enjoy your meal! This is an excellent option for when you need something quick or want to take the time to sit down. You can find both, depending on what your current need is.   

The CODfather 

As the second location of this dining experience, this option of Summerville’s new restaurants focuses on the dish, fish, and chips. Those who have eaten at this restaurant have claimed it even serves better fish and chips than places they have encountered in the United Kingdom! Now that the restaurant has a second location, there is no need to make the trip to North Charleston. You can remain in Summerville and still satisfy that British craving.
