The events of this year have served as a wake up call in so many different ways. This past year we‘ve prioritized our personal health, as well as the health of those around us, and made so many sacrifices along the way. Businesses around the world evaluated their plans and made hard decisions, ranging from layoffs to reinventing the idea of the office to promote fully remote work spaces. For many families and individuals across the country, the idea of home and space became top of mind. In cities like New York, the pandemic was the driving force behind leaving small apartments in favor of more space in warmer climates. If you’re in that group of people interested in relocating, look no further than the Martin Freeman Group.

The team at Martin Freeman specializes in helping out-of-towners find their new southern home. With the majority of their clients looking to move to the Lowcountry from out of state, they’re able to help ensure the process is as easy as possible. Whether you’re in the market for a new home or not, a new year serves both as time for reflection for the past year, and preparation for the year ahead. As 2020 draws to a close, we wanted to take five minutes with Lindsey and Britt of the Martin Freeman Group to gain some insight into what they’re all about, and to talk about what the future has in store for them.

How long have you worked in real estate?

We’ve both been in real estate for nearly 17 years.

What is the best part of your job?

Helping people realize their dreams.  Purchasing a home is part of the American Dream and we’re able to play a large role in them finding, securing, and moving into their perfect home.

What is your favorite area of the Lowcountry?

There are too many to name!  We love the quaintness of downtown Summerville, the beautiful grounds and history of Middleton Place, and watching the shrimp boats come in at Shem Creek.

What excites you about the future of Charleston real estate?

Charleston continues to be a huge draw to out-of-towners seeking a move to an area that provides beautiful weather, low property taxes, and an incredible lifestyle.  That’s not going away so we expect home sales to remain strong.

What is one piece of advice you have for potential home buyers?

Make a list of your must-haves vs. your wants.  If a home combines 85 to 90% of them, that is a great fit.  In this competitive market, don’t wait to make an offer.  You don’t want to regret missing out on the perfect home.

Why is your team the best option when it comes to buying a home in Summerville?

We are absolutely, 100% committed to your success.  Your goal is our goal.  We are involved in all aspects of the home buying and selling process and are going to do everything we can to make this process as seamless as possible.
